Ever watch an old movie and wonder why they do not make certain cars anymore? Like everything else in our world, things are constantly changing and just because something is loved does not mean that manufacturers will continue to produce a good. It’s one of the annoying things that happens as time progresses, especially with the advancement of light weight car ramps for classic and lower profile cars. But is out with the old and in with the new always a good motto? When it comes to some cars, there are some that we wish were still made in today’s world. This article will explore these cars and discuss what made them great in their time. Don’t expect to see them anytime soon though, unless you are at a classic car show.

One of the most sought after collectible cars would be the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This car was only produced for a few short years before Chevy discontinued making it. So what makes this car so desirable? This car was ahead of its time in terms of speed. The iconic car could go from zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds which was amazing in the 60s.

Who doesn’t remember what an El Camino looks like? This car is one of a kind. Many try to place this car to certain class levels and demographic stereotypes, but everyone should enjoy this car. The notion behind this original design was to have the utility of a truck but the mindset of a car. Obviously for Chevy this did not work out for very long, but it didn’t stop them from trying to reinvent the wheel and give it a new name. The SSR was another short lived car from Chevy that could presumably be modeled with the El Camino in mind.

Though Ford still makes the Mustang, it looks nothing like the version that appeared in the 60s. Car lovers everywhere can appreciate the beauty that was put into the mustang when it came out in 1964. This car is the one on the list that I would put my vote behind revisiting. You hear that Ford? The classic design just draws people in. I dare you to look at this car and tell me that it is not a beauty. Especially when you think about driving it around town on a gorgeous day with the top down. And yes, while you are driving people are staring because they are jealous!

Another 60s iconic car would be the 1961 Lincoln Continental. Lincolns of today aren’t necessarily known for making their way onto an iconic list but this one did. One of the best features of this car was the center opening, suicide doors. How awesome would it have been to sit in this beauty?

Like we said, these are just a few of the cars that we wish were still made. By that we don’t mean the reinvented version that these cars may have become. No, we mean these cars, as they are, here on this list. The 60s were good to American car manufacturing. Car companies should think about using some of these designs in the future.

If you ride a Yamaha Raptor 250 or Yamaha Raptor 125 you probably noticed that you could use some more stability and motorcycle lifts. There are a few ways to make your Raptor more stable. The idea here is to make the vehicle wider–the wider your Raptor is (up to a point) the more stable it will be. It is best to widen both the front and the rear of the vehicle equally for the best overall handling, however if money is not unlimited (like most of us) and you can not do it all, the rear end will give you the most bang for the buck. The rear shock will not need to be changed which saves a substantial amount of money. You will notice a big difference with only doing the rear end.

There are two ways to make the front of the quad wider. The best way is accomplished with the addition of front A-arms which are wider than your stock arms. Typically the arms will be two inches wider per side for a total of four inches increased overall width. Pricing for A- arms can range from $350.00 up to $800.00. When you widen the front arms your front shocks will get much softer due to the additional leverage the wider arms provide. Depending on rider weight this can be good or bad. Most stock shocks come extremely stiff from the factory. If you are watching your money try the stock shocks and see how they work. If they are bottoming out you will definitely want to look into a set of aftermarket shocks. It is recommended that you replace your shocks with some that are properly set up for the extended arms. There will be a big difference in how the quad performs. If you don’t want to spend the money on new A- arms then wheel spacers are a good alternative. These are economical and easy to install. They should cost between $55.00 and 75.00. Be careful of widths. We recommend using spacers no more than 1-1/4″ width each. This gives 2-1/2″ width increase overall. The reason we don’t like to use wider spacers is due to bump steer. This is dangerous and happens when you move the wheels further out from the ball joints (this does not happen with wider A- arms).

The widening of the rear end can be accomplished by a couple different methods. Either an aftermarket extended axle or wheel spacers. The extended rear axle is the best choice. The reason the extended axle is the better choice is that it is much stronger. The stock axle is already weak and intended for recreational riding. When you add wheel spacers to the end of the stock axle and space your wheels further outward you are increasing the leverage on the axle and increasing the load it is under. If you are jumping the quad wheel spacers are not a good choice as you will increase the chances of breaking the axle. Aftermarket axles are made of chromolly and are hardened which makes them perfect for the application. You will be able to do some major jumps and deal out any punishment (ride hard) – it will take it. But like all things the right way to fix the problem is the expensive way. Wheel spacers range from $50-$150, and a rear axle will run you about $180-$500. There are several axle companies making extended axles for the Raptor– Alba Racing, Durablue, and Lonestar. They are all very high quality and have lifetime warranties. These axles can be found online on sale from $180 to $320. As far as installation goes the axle is more work than the wheel spacers, but if you ride hard and/or like to jump go for the axle, it will be worth it in the long run.

Have you ever wondered what entices a motorcycle enthusiast? Is it the ability to repair your bike on a high quality motorcycle stand? Have you ever been driving down the road on that cool fall afternoon only to see bike after bike out on the roads? I am sure you have asked yourself what makes these folks bundle up and brave the elements. The truth is, riding a motorcycle has some unique advantages. Today I will share some of them with you.

Fuel- When you pull your SUV up to the pump these days a fill up is equal to the value of a nice steak dinner for two. Well, actually add a few drinks to that and you will have a more accurate comparison, but you get the point. At the national average of $3.368 for a gallon of regular unleaded, the average fill up will cost you around $75. Sure, that is better than the $100 average of recent past, but you get many more miles out of two pair of Levi’s for that same price. On the other hand, when I pull up to the pump on my motorcycle I can top off for less than $15. Additionally, I can travel over 200 miles per fill up. Even without putting the pencil to it, you can see the cost savings is substantial.

Maintenance- The cost of maintaining a motorcycle is a fraction of the cost of maintenance on a car or SUV. There are several reasons for this. One of them being that many of the routine maintenance items can be preformed on your own. How many of you have a new car that you can still work on? I rest my case. Very few vehicles can be worked on in the confines of your own garage these days. Even if you have the knowledge, you better have a pile of tools to apply that knowledge. It isn’t as simple as a wrench and a socket set anymore. But, in most cases it is that simple with a bike. And, when it is time to replace the tires, you only have two to buy. The reality is there is much less to maintain or replace on a motorcycle.

Parking- How many times have you circled the parking lot looking for that spot that will allow you to pull in and not have to worry about returning to a new door ding? Then, on your second lap a motorcycle pulls in and takes one of the two spots that you felt were just a little too tight. But as he or she crawls off their bike they have two to three feet on each side. Yes its true, the flexibility of parking a motorcycle is quite nice. Some places even have reserved motorcycle parking up near the front of their establishments.

Excitement- There is nothing that compares to the feel of the wind in your face. We all get this to some degree when we experience things like snow skiing, water skiing, or boating. But nothing compares to exploring Gods great creation on two wheels. There is no comparison to hearing the roar of the pipes, the feel of your hair or beard blowing in the wind, or that crisp cool breeze on your cheeks. And when you couple these things with the beauty of the land, there is no denying the excitement that rushes over us. Cruising up the Atlantic coast from Daytona to St Augustine, or slipping through Spearfish Canyon in South Dakota, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Today we have addressed many of the advantages of riding a motorcycle. Some of them are economical, some are convenience, and others are therapeutic. So the next time you are traveling down the road and see that rider, hopefully you will understand some of the reasons they have decided to saddle up. You will know as they travel across Interstate 90 on the way to Sturgis, or down Interstate 75 or 95 through Georgia on his or her way to Dayton Beach, it is costing them a fraction of what it would to drive their truck. Maybe you will realize the sense of pleasure that comes from exploring the great outdoors on a steel horse. I speak from experience when I tell you, there is nothing like it!

All jobs and all types of work have “hazards of the job” attached to them. Truck driving is no different in this respect. However if the truck driver is fore-warned about these common problems then he and his employer should be able to provide information and advice that will help him to recognize symptoms and issues as they arise. In the Pacific Northwest it is recommended truckers stop and take a break at a Boise restaurant and get themselves a good meal so they do not fall asleep at the wheel.

Road Safety
Some drivers may not think of road safety as much as what they need to do to get the job done. Road safety should not be compromised at any time. However truckers will feel the pressured to make a delivery on time although traffic jams and speed limits slow them down. Federal laws now dictate how long a driver can be on the road for their safety and that of others. The CSA 2010 regulations are now in force to ensure road safety for truckers and other drivers on the road. It is possible that computerized monitors will be installed trucks in the future.

When Safety Laws are not Kept
Many truckers are guilty of not wearing seat belts. This is a basic safety requirement particularly when trucking has a high incidence of job-related deaths. Around 80% of these deaths are caused in traffic accidents were wearing seat belts could have saved the lives of many truck drivers. Truckers also often ignore bans on cell phone use while driving in some states, and they also eat on the road to avoid boredom and to save time to get to their destinations. Safety laws may seem unnecessary at times, but it only takes a split second to wreck or lose control of a heavy truck load.

Swift Trucking Rewards Drivers
While truck drivers have problems to deal with when on the road there are also positive aspects to the job. Swift Trucking for example is one of the top trucking companies in the country. They have policy of rewarding drivers who have excellent driving records and who are safe and courteous drivers. Their Dedicated Drivers program is a positive goal for drivers to try to meet. Once a driver has an established reputation many opportunities open up to him or her. If a driver is a Dedicated Driver he or she is given the jobs for large companies such as Walmart, Home Depot, and Target. These jobs occur regularly and take less time to complete than new jobs. Each time a trucker sets out on the road with these jobs is means more time off and more time at home. Swift Trucking will use the experience of their Dedicated Truck Drivers to serve as mentors to graduates from the trucking schools who are new to truck driving. The company makes it worthwhile for those who follow the safety laws and do their best on the job.

The type of business that you’re in or the kind of work that you intend to do with the truck will help you be in a better position to buy one. There are different types of trucks available by all the leading manufacturers, so you can be rest assured of getting exactly what you’re looking for; be it commercial trucks, pickup trucks, dump trucks, heavy, medium or light duty trucks. Although there are different types of trucks, there is only one reliable Boise glass repair business so make sure you do your research.

Once you’ve finalized the kind of truck that you’re looking to buy, you now need to search for a dealership that sells the truck of your choice. Going online for the same is advisable and is very convenient as you have the comforts of your home and you can browse through different models by all manufacturers at one place. You can also ask your friends and the extended family members to suggest you one and based on the above, you can now visit dealerships for personal inspection of the truck that you intend to buy.

After you visit the dealership, make sure that you inspect every bit of the truck on display and also ask for any change/upgrade done in the vehicle and not updated online. Ask for finance options if at all you need one. It is better if you carry the necessary papers along with you at the dealership required for this purpose. You need to make sure that you have understood all the paperwork. Always prepare a list of questions before visiting the dealership as it is quite possible for you to forget some things in that moment. It is also advised to note each and every promise and claim that the sales representative makes. You will need this list at the time of delivery in order to verify whether everything has been delivered as per claims and promises.

Taking a test drive of the truck is one of the most important things you need to do. The most important and an initial thing to do is, check the engine for any abnormal sound. This alone can say a lot about the truck and the engine. Check the service history and whether the truck has undergone any major maintenance work. When on the road, be very critical of the handling, the pickup, braking, etc. Drive over uneven roads and test the suspension for its shock absorbing capabilities. After the test drive, it is essential to check the engine for any leakage, check the electronic components of the truck and make sure that they work as they should. Again, it is always better to prepare a checklist as it is quite possible to forget some important stuff and miss out on a fact that you should have known well before buying a truck.

Search online to find Used Car Dontating, as it is one of the best options to give a generous and reliable gift to someone in need.

Back in February 2011, Mercedes-Benz announced that they are re-introducing the C-Class Coupe and I am sure that I am not the first person to say that the new Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe is 100x better looking than the prior iteration of the Coupe as seen in the picture below. Not too mention that the Boise auto glass is a suitable fix to a chipped windshield. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz also noted they will produce a high performance AMG version. Specifically, it will be a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe and this time Mercedes’ AMG division claims that it was purpose built from the ground up for performance. That said, yes every AMG model has solid performance figures, but the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG, CL63 AMG or CLS63 AMG essentially had “bolt-on” performance modifications. The C63 AMG Black Series on the other hadwas crafted to encroach on BMW M territory.

And like other AMGs with the 63 badge, this Mercedes Benz has the 6.3-liter V-8. However, unlike the other AMGs, this engine shares the same pistons, crankshaft and connecting rods from the SLS AMG and as a result the Black Series produces 510 horsepower. This represents a ~12% increase in horsepower compared to the C63 AMG Coupe (non-Black Series) which has a modest 457 horsepower engine. The improvement in torque is a more modest 3% to 457 lb-ft in the Black Series from 443 lb-ft in the C63 AMG Coupe. And to make this model more “track-friendly”, AMG optimized the engine oil cooling system giving the oil cooler a cooling surface which is 50% larger.

To transfer all of the power to the rear tires, this Black Series has the innovative AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission which has 4 transmission modes, a double-declutching function and a “Race Start”function. In the “Sport Plus” and “Manual” transmission modes the gear changes take a mere 100 milliseconds.

The front tires are 255/35 R 19 while the rear tires are a little wider at 285/30 R 19. These tires are mounted on 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels. These are vast improvements in size over C63 AMG which in the front has 235/40 R 18 and in the rear 255/35 R 18. These wider tires transfer power to the tarmac and allow the Black Series to reach 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and help the car maintain grip around tight corners.

The Black Series’ party piece is its adjustable coil-over suspension system. The track width of the axles has been widened by 1.6 at the front and 3.1 inches at the rear and the system offers numerous setting options allowing the driver to create his/her own personal set-up. That said, this model is said to have better grip and a low roll angle which makes it feel more like a sports car rather than a luxury car that Mercedes-Benz is known for.

This Mercedes will give BMW’s M division a run for its money. I personally love the look of this Black Series. I love the wider more aggressive stance, the 19-inch AMG wheels, the interior styling and all of the performance bells and whistles. That said, I would strongly consider purchasing this if I was in the market. This C63 AMG Black Series will surely give BMW’s M Division a run for its money.

Bentley Motors in Crewe, England has a lengthy history of both the manufacturing and the racing of luxury cars just as Boise car insurance is synonymous with Idaho. The company was founded in 1919 by its Walter Bentley, known previously for his range of military aero-engines, in particular the engine for the Sopwith Camel.

It was from here Walter Bentley found that his use of aluminium in the construction of his aero-engines and components both gave better performance and durability, let alone many options for casting and machining. As at this period in history many manufacturers were still replying heavily on cast steel components, thus making them heavy, prone to overheating and less durable.

So with this new type of engine, Walter Bentley applied it to the first cars and in 1921 the first Bentley the BR1 came off the production line. A year later Bentley cars were seen at numerous races and hill-climbs around the UK and even entered into the American Indianapolis 500 endurance race. But it was two years later in 1924 when Bentley was finally put on the map with a coveted win at the Le Mans 24 Hour race in France. To top this Bentley cars went on to win no less than four consecutive race wins from 1927 to 1930.

After the 1929 Wall Street Crash in the USA, Bentley car sales severely slumped world-wide. The problem became so severe the company was sold to the Rolls Royce Corporation in 1931. Fast forwarding to the present-day, the Bentley marque which has been owned by the German car manufacturer Volkswagen AG since 1998 is proving to be now as popular as ever. Even with the current global uncertainty the Bentley brand is enjoying a re-surge in sales in many emerging markets around the world, like India, Qatar and China.

Bentley has gone through much transformation in the last 10 years with its new owners, the cars are still hand-made and hand-finished in the same factory in Crewe, plus they are still produced with such high standard and attention to detail.

The new 2012 Bentley Continental GTC has just been launched just over a month ago and features an all new lighter body and chassis, with a slightly more powerful engine which will also run on bio-ethanol fuels. The car has received much critical acclaim and all important new orders.

Other new forthcoming developments are the option of diesel engines across the range of vehicles. The diesel engines expected to be used are the V8 TDi and V12 TDi powerful and economical engines, which have been developed by the Volkswagen group.

Tyres are the only components that get in contact with the road surface and hence they are very critical to the performance, safety and efficiency of your car. If you can handle a car then make sure your butt is in one of the most comfortable bicycle seats made. Tyre failures can prove to be quite fatal and hence you need to make sure to keep a regular check on your performance car tyres. Although most vehicle tyres are designed to provide similar kind of performance for a specific duration, tyre wear and tear in terms of braking and traction ability is very common. Therefore, irrespective of the manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee on performance car tyres, you have to replace the tyres at first signs of wear and tear.

General Functions of Tyres:

Tyre requirements differ from vehicle to vehicle. Irrespective of the type of vehicle, are generally designed:

• To carry, support and sustain the weight of vehicles.
• To deliver power from the engine.
• To transit braking and traction forces.
• To reduce shocks and vibrations.
• To control the direction of the vehicle.
• To determine the stability and manoeuvring capability.

Reasons Why Performance Car Tyres Wear Out:

Tyres although being the important components of your vehicle are also most often the overlooked components. Tyre punctures are not the only reason why your vehicle may wear out, there are several other reasons why car wear out very often before your tyre approaches the warranty period, and those reasons are:

• Inappropriate pressure levels leading to low traction and braking performance, reduced levels of manoeuvring and shock absorption capabilities.
• Continued loss of pressure over time or travelling on bumpy roads.
• Weight variation.
• Under or over inflated tyres.

Since tyres are important to you and your vehicles safety, a little care will help you prolong the life of your performance car tyres. Understanding and maintaining the correct tire pressure rating and conducting a visual inspection of the tyre treads are common methods of tyre maintenance.

Tips for Buying Tyres:

• Buy tyres with superior grip for better fuel efficiency.
• Consider the local weather and road conditions before purchasing tyres.
• Take into account the type of driving you do.
• Type of treads on tyres plays a very essential role in the performance of a vehicle. Therefore, choose tyres with treads that are most suited to your type of vehicle.
• Buy tyres with tread deep treads and tread wear indicators.
• Tyre sizes depend upon your vehicle specification. Therefore, if you are ordering for online, then make sure to provide all the information regarding your vehicle which can be found in your vehicle manual.
• Buy tyres in pairs to ensure that you have stock for immediate replacement.

Cool car accessories no longer are just additional features and options that are only available on high-end luxury cars. If you are going to spend that much on a car then you should check out the custom homes in Boise ID, which will appreciate in value. Typically, additional features may be added for quite a lot of money in comparison to just being the extra part, separate from the car total package when you drive out of the dealer. Sure it’s convenient to just custom order your car with all the nifty features and accessories you want on your car at the dealership, but every accessory adds up and before you know it, you’re at least 10 grand over budget. Reasonably priced add-ons can be added to your existing vehicle, saving you money on buying a new car with all the features you’d like on it. This way, you can turn your older vehicle into a more enjoyable and safer ride. Read on to explore our top coolest and inexpensive car accessories.

One additional accessory you should install in your car is some sort of GPS navigation. Sure, these come with our smart phones, but it doesn’t compare to GPS navigation systems that are plugged into you’re cars system, integrated and with a large screen so you can see where you are going, while having both hands on the wheel, not fussing with your Smartphone. For those thrifty consumers, you can choose to get Wi-Fi included or no Wi-Fi, which would save you around ten to fifteen dollars a month.

The next cool and affordable accessory we recommend are Bluetooth speakerphones, which can cost you as little as $100 in comparison to $1000 from the dealership. This gadget will make your trip a lot safer allowing you to talking and connect on your phone, stream music, or whatever you need to access on your phone through a wireless speaker that you can clip to your visor or clip in on your dashboard.

Another feature that will make your driving experience safer and easier to control is rearview cameras. There are many hidden dangers and spots that are hard to see behind you. Backing up can now be an easier more smooth process with the installation of rearview cameras, which are attached wirelessly to your license plate, while a video is displayed on your dashboard.

Another upgrade you should consider are high performance headlights. Since these bulbs grow dimmer over time, it’s a good idea for your safety and driving ease to change them out. Some halogen bulbs cost as little as $40 and can greatly enhance your nighttime driving experience and increase visibility. Lastly, on some long distance drives, or for families with little kids, a great accessory that is also affordable is installing a couple TV monitors or a small video entertainment system. DVD players and TV monitors can cost as little as $200 in comparison to all out luxurious systems that can run over a grand.

The good news is that these add-on features can make your driving experience safer and possible even save you money on your auto insurance policy. In the long run, what is most important is optimizing your driving experience, while spending as little money as possible. Equipped with these additional cool and relatively inexpensive gadgets, and a reliable car insurance policy, you’re well on your way to a safe, hip driving experience!

Upgrade what you already have for practical reasons.

Maybe you like your ride as is yet it’s not serving your needs, but the proper motorcycle stands to make the necessary adjustments could prove useful. You can add cargo racks or boxes, fender or saddlebags to your ATV and to many motorcycles. Use them for carrying anything from fishing and hunting supplies to your lunch. The size of your vehicle will determine how much extra storage you can add. Some bigger motorcycles even have their own luggage containers.

You can also upgrade individual stock parts for better performance from the vehicle and longer life. Perhaps you want to upgrade the exhaust system on your bike, so you don’t wake the neighbours when you leave for work in the morning. The list of upgrades you can add to your bike or ATV is extensive: winches, tires, wheels, mirrors – pretty much everything.

Upgrade what you have for vanity reasons.

Riding is fun – even when you ride for the most utilitarian of reasons. So upgrading your ride can make it even more fun. Say you want to ride more aggressively. New wheels and shocks on your current ATV or bike can create a completely different feel – like a new bike but for a much lower price.

Maybe you really like the look of your ATV or motorcycle – so much so that you want to customize it. These are sexy vehicles and individualizing them makes them an extension of ourselves. Perhaps you want chrome rims on your ATV or other chrome highlights. Or a rear spoiler on your touring bike adds flair. Even a unique paint job may be a significant upgrade if it makes you happy. The only limit is your imagination. Well, maybe your imagination and budget.

Or actually move up to another model for these same reasons.

If you can afford it, the purchase of a new ATV or motorcycle is an exciting moment in any rider’s life. But there’s still that practical-versus-personal inner argument.

We advocate the same for new ATV riders: start small and get bigger with your experience. But if you’ve been riding a while and are more confident, maybe you’re ready for something with more power for better performance. It increases the adrenaline rush.

On the practical side, maybe you need a different ATV or motorcycle because your needs have changed. Say you need a bigger ATV with towing capacity and more space because you bought a bigger piece of land and need to do more chores. Or perhaps you’ve switched jobs and an extra half hour’s commute every day would feel more comfortable riding lower in the saddle than the height your current motorcycle offers.

Regardless of the reasons, you can talk to your local Honda Ontario Power dealer about your circumstances and to get ideas for upgrading.
